November is International Education Month at Florida State University, a time when the university spotlights the successes and the importance of international programs and people at FSU and the university’s presence abroad.
An award-winning national leader in campus internationalization, FSU honors its commitment to international education throughout the month of November with events that celebrate its diverse community and the importance of global connections, perspectives and experiences.
An opening reception featuring an address from FSU President Richard McCullough followed by the Going Global Showcase will kick off the festivities Tuesday, Nov. 2. More than a dozen events, including a series of talks, concerts and performances highlight the monthlong celebration.
International Education Month began as International Education Week, a joint initiative between the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education and was commemorated during the third week of November.

International Education Month Opening Reception and Going Global Showcase

Engage Your World: Daughters of the Forest (Film Screening and Q&A with Dr. Ramos-Mattoussi)

FSU’s Center for Global Engagement’s Engage Your World Speaker Series, Learning Systems Institute and Askew Student Life Cinema present a film screening of “Daughters of the Forest,” an uplifting coming-of-age story set in the untamed wilds of the Mbaracayu Reserve in rural Paraguay. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Flavia Ramos-Mattoussi who will discuss her work with USAID-funded “Women’s Leadership Program in Paraguay.”
