Florida State University’s Information Technology Services (ITS) department will bring employees and campus partners together for networking and a celebration of achievements during its annual open house.
This event will take place 2:30-4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the Technology Services Building in Innovation Park, 1721 West Paul Dirac Drive.
“Information Technology Services has been recognized on the national stage for redefining how technology can positively impact higher education,” said Jonathan Fozard, associate vice president and chief information officer. “Our open house is an opportunity to showcase the current work we are doing throughout our community and highlight several new pilots that will take technology at FSU to even greater heights in the months and years ahead.”
The event will feature hands-on activities and discussions on how emerging technologies can help reach specific goals. Attendees also can tour the facility, engage with ITS team members and explore the work of student interns through presentations of their work.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity to showcase everything I’ve learned and gained throughout the internship,” said Angela Kablar, a marketing student in the College of Business. “I hope that the open house will provide some networking opportunities and show that I’m gaining the skills and experience needed to work in the marketing field.”
Last year, guests experienced innovative technology from around campus, including a virtual reality headset. Additionally, each ITS team created a poster highlighting its roles and projects.
With more than 200 ITS employees and campus partners in attendance last year, excitement and turnout are expected to expand this year to create a memorable event.
