This message to all students, faculty and staff has been approved by Renisha Gibbs, Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Finance & Administration Chief of Staff.
In November, the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) launched the Healthy Together pilot program. Healthy Together is a contact tracing platform used by FDOH to notify individuals of their COVID-19 test results. The platform utilizes Bluetooth technology to determine when close contact has been made with a person who tests positive. Users who are participating in the application can then receive notifications that they have been in close proximity with an anonymous individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, thus prompting them to get tested due to potential exposure.
If you have recently been tested or experienced an exposure, you may have received a notification via the Healthy Together platform. These messages are not spam. Faculty, staff, and students can learn more about the app when they click the Healthy Together link, which assures individuals their data will only be used in the fight against the spread of COVID-19. The University also conducts contact tracing in coordination with the Leon County Health Department. If you have responded to the Healthy Together application contact tracing platform, you are still strongly encouraged to continue to participate in the University contact tracing program.
Secure Assessment for FSU Exposure Response (SAFER)
Results reported from the University testing site are used by the SAFER team to conduct contact tracing, allowing the University to identify potential exposures on campus immediately. Additionally, members of the campus community who have tested at other testing sites also have the ability to report results through the Daily Wellness Check application, which provides useful information to the SAFER team to conduct contact tracing. Participation in the University process is crucial to mitigating the spread of the virus among the campus community.
Your participation and cooperation are genuinely appreciated. Thank you for continuing to do your part to stop the spread of COVID-19.
