Opening Nights at Florida State University and Leon County (Visit Tallahassee) co-present the Gipsy Kings, a world-renowned musical ensemble known for their unique fusion of flamenco, salsa and pop.

The concert features Nicolas Reyes, lead singer, guitarist, songwriter and founder of the Gipsy Kings, and will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, live at the Adderley Amphitheater at Cascades Park. The full Opening Nights 2023-2024 season will be announced Aug. 1.

“We are so proud to partner with Leon County in announcing this incredible performance ahead of the Opening Nights’ 2023-2024 season reveal,” said Jennifer Wright, director of Opening Nights. “This performance promises to be an unforgettable experience highlighting their unmatched talent and timeless hits. It is only the beginning of what promises to be an awe-inspiring season, filled with an eclectic array of performances and events that will enrich the cultural landscape of Tallahassee and beyond.”

For more than 25 years, the music of the Gipsy Kings has incorporated elements of Latin and Cuban styles, Arabic music, reggae and jazz guitar reminiscent of the French Gypsy master Django Reinhardt.

Post, director of the Leon County Division of Tourism/Visit Tallahassee. “Their unique blend of flamenco, salsa and pop is sure to be a hit with audiences, and we hope this concert will be the beginning of many successful collaborations with Opening Nights.”
